This year, women around the world celebrated the International Women’s Day under the theme, ‘equal rights, equal opportunities: progress for all’. Momentum in the Constitution Making Process in Zimbabwe is building up. Last week, the Ministry of Women Affairs Gender and Community Development organised a Women’s Consultative Conference which was attended by women from various professional disciplines. The Conference sought to de-mystify the Constitutional Making Process and raise awareness on the steps the process will follow.

I have wanted to post this for a long time but I have been overtaken by events. For many in Zimbabwe, the inauguration of the Prime Minister, Mr. Tsvangirai and subsequent appointment of cabinet ministers had been long over due. One week ago, I was attending a course in which we had a discussion around behavior change with reference to HIV and AIDS. Zimbabwe like other developing nations is grappling with the challenges posed by the pandemic. AIDS is recorded as the most common cause of death among the African population.
