Young black men, be better fathers than your fathers
Sunday, December 30, 2012 - 09:04, by Khaya DlangaExtract taken from my book, In My Arrogant Opinion, published in June 2012
Many young black South Africans carry around bitterness towards their fathers for a variety of reasons. One of the major reasons is because their fathers have been fathers in name only, and not in actions. The only thing they seem expert in is making babies – and then abandoning them. I have heard many people simply call their fathers sperm donors. I have heard people refer to their fathers as ‘that thing’. The great bitterness towards fathers has less to do with hate than deep-seated disappointment. It is… ( Read on! )
Zuma’s dogs: Leaders have a responsibility to be clear and precise
Saturday, December 29, 2012 - 09:38, by Khaya DlangaWe live in a time where a small thing can be made big (and stop it with your dirty minds). Everything a politician says is scrutinized. Particularly in this age of social networking and conspicuous consumption of media. Politicians need to be extra thoughtful about what they say in public to ensure that there is no need to clarify and justify later. My heart has thawed in the warmth of their tails wagging and melted at the sight of their excitement when they see me arrive at home after a long day. When I say I am filled with joy by these animals, I know no one dare challenge me when I say – I am… ( Read on! )

These Cape Times ads are fantastic
Monday, December 10, 2012 - 15:57, by Khaya DlangaThe line reads, “You can’t get any closer to the news”. It’s got that take-my-own pic and instagram myself generation. This “get close to the news” idea has been done a million times before and similar ideas have been done, but these guys found a new and fresher way to execution an idea that could have so easily been tired. Nice work by Lowe Bull.
