I mars 2007 sørget en avtale mellom president Laurent Gbagbo og ”eks-opprørerne” Forces Nouvelles for en maktdeling der opprørernes leder, Guillaume Soro, ble tildelt statsministerposten. Avtalen har blitt kalt en ”ivoriansk løsning” på konflikten som har herjet Elfenbenskysten siden 2002.
